Bands playing at the Denshaw
Contest also have the opportunity to complete for further prize money from the Saddleworth &
Oldham District Whit Friday Brass Band Contest Central Prize Fund (2005 pot total of £6000). To do so, a band must
compete in a minimum of 6 qualifying contests. Each contest contributes to the Central Prize
Fund, however, this year we are grateful to United Co-operatives and Oldham Chronicle for their
generous contributions to the Central Prize Fund.
The prizes will be awarded to the bands finishing in the highest aggregate positions as follows:
Overall Champion £2,500
Overall Runner Up £1,000
Overall 3rd Place £750
Overall Local Champion £750 (8 mile radius of Uppermill)
