The top tray is for a collection of three vegetables taken from the following eight. The quantity of each vegetable needed is shown in brackets. Tomatoes (6), Onions (3), Potatoes (3), Parsnips (3), Carrots (3), Cauliflowers (2), Peas (6), Runner beans (6). For carrots and parsnips the top foliage should be trimmed to not more than 3" from the top of the shoulder. The vegetables should be displayed within an area of 18" x 24" maximum. Entry fees are 20p per exhibit except for children's entries (classes 55 to 62) which are free. Entries are to be staged before 12.30pm on 23 August, and judging will commence at 1.00pm. The Hall will be opening for public viewing from 3.30pm with the presentation of prizes at 4.30pm, after this time exhibits may be removed. Following the prize presentation, there will be the auction of exhibits and raffle - an opportunity for some delightful bargains to be bid for with all funds raised going to the Gardening Club.
